Dr. Gia Croce

A native of Delaware county, Dr. Gia Croce first joined the medical team at Ardmore Animal Hospital in 1998. From 2001 to 2007, she operated her own veterinary practice and returned to the hospital in 2007. Dr. Croce attended Immaculata College and received her Bachelors' Degrees in Biology and Chemistry in 1988. After completing her veterinary studies at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, she was awarded her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris degree in 1992. She was awarded her Certificate of Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery from the Cornell University New York College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. That same year, she also earned a Certificate in Ultrasound Interest Group from Cornell. Dr. Croce's professional interests include soft tissue surgery, general medicine and animal rescue and disaster relief work. A major focus of Dr. Croce's veterinary career has been centered around competition dogs. She is VetStem certified.

Dr. Croce maintains membership in numerous professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, the Delaware Academy of Veterinary Medicine and the American Animal Hospital Association. She is also a member of the Delaware County Small Animal Resource Team. During her career, she has received many awards and has been featured in Philadelphia Magazine and the News of Delaware County for her outstanding work. Dr. Croce is the primary care veterinarian for Sugarknoll Buckshot, the 2007 Purina Top Open Shooting Dog and 2008 U.S. Shooting Dog Invitational champion.

At home, Dr. Croce enjoys the company of her pets, including dogs Coleman and Junior, cats Baby Kiki, Slim and Bitty, and many goldfish, koi and cichlids. Outside of work, Dr. Croce participates in a fellowship to help families and friends affected by alcoholism and other addictions; she is also knowledgeable in American Sign Language and Cued Speech. Her hobbies include photography, horseback riding, scuba diving, running and yoga, as well as spending time with her husband, Tim, and their son, Dante.
